Feature Request: RAM Group Admin Management
Summary:
Introduce the ability to designate one or more administrators per RAM Group who can manage RAM elements specifically associated with their group. These RAM Group Admins will have focused access on the RAM view to configure, maintain, and oversee only the items their group is assigned to.
Problem Statement:
Currently, RAM management is centralized, making it difficult to delegate ownership of RAM elements to the teams or groups that actually use them. Without group-level admins, updates to assignments, configurations, or maintenance of RAM elements must go through a limited set of global administrators. This creates bottlenecks, slows response times to changes, and increases the risk of misconfiguration since global admins may not have detailed context for every RAM Group’s needs.
Proposed Solution:
Add support for defining an “Admin” role at the RAM Group level.
Allow RAM Group Admins to manage RAM elements where their group is assigned, including creating, updating, and removing assignments as permitted by overall system permissions.
Scope the RAM view for RAM Group Admins so they primarily see and manage the elements their group is associated with, while respecting any broader visibility rules.
Provide a clear configuration interface for system or workspace admins to assign and revoke RAM Group Admin privileges.
Log and audit key administrative actions performed by RAM Group Admins for traceability and compliance.
Benefits:
Reduces reliance on global administrators by delegating day-to-day RAM management to group-level owners.
Improves accuracy and relevance of RAM configurations because changes are made by those closest to the work.
Speeds up updates and reduces bottlenecks when RAM assignments or structures need to change.
Enhances governance and accountability with clear ownership and auditable admin actions at the RAM Group level.
