Feature Request: Indirect Rate Table Override in BOE Pro
Summary:
Allow users to override the default indirect rate table in BOE Pro so they can reuse a single direct rate table with multiple indirect rate structures. This enables more flexible modeling of different pricing or burden scenarios without duplicating direct rate tables.
Problem Statement:
Today, users who need to apply multiple indirect rate structures to the same underlying direct rates must create and maintain separate rate configurations. This leads to duplication of setup, increases the chance of configuration drift, and makes it harder to compare scenarios that differ only in indirect rates. The lack of a simple override mechanism for the indirect rate table makes scenario analysis and compliance-driven rate changes more cumbersome and error-prone.
Proposed Solution:
Provide an option to override the table for a proposal instance.
Enable selection of an alternate indirect rate table, ensuring compatibility and data integrity.
Clearly indicate within the UI when an indirect rate override is active (e.g., banner or label), including which table is in use.
Ensure calculations, reports, and exports consistently honor the selected override table without requiring additional manual configuration.
Provide validation to prevent mismatched or incompatible combinations of direct and indirect rate tables, with clear error or warning messages when issues occur.
Benefits:
Reduces duplication of direct rate tables by allowing reuse across multiple indirect rate scenarios.
Improves accuracy and consistency of estimates by centralizing direct rate maintenance while varying only indirect rates.
Speeds up what-if and scenario analysis for pricing, compliance, or customer-specific rate requirements.
Decreases administrative overhead and risk of configuration drift across multiple copied or redundant rate tables.
Enhances transparency for auditors and stakeholders by making the applied indirect rate structure explicit and traceable within BOE Pro.
