Feature Request: Display Proposal Name on Background Processes Screens
Summary:
Show the associated proposal name for each proposal submission job on the Background Processes screen so users can quickly identify which proposal succeeded or failed during background processing.
Problem Statement:
When a user submits a proposal to CE, the submission runs as a background process. If that process fails, the Background Processes screen does not clearly indicate which specific proposal encountered the failure. This lack of visibility forces users to troubleshoot blindly, manually cross-referencing timings or other indirect clues to determine the impacted proposal, which is inefficient and error-prone.
Proposed Solution:
Display the proposal name (and optionally its unique identifier) for all proposal submission background jobs on the Background Processes screen.
Include the proposal name in both the process list view and the detailed view of each background job.
Ensure the proposal name is visible for all process statuses (e.g., pending, running, completed, failed).
If multiple proposals are processed together, show all associated proposal names or provide a clear indicator that multiple proposals are included, with access to a detailed list.
Maintain existing sorting and filtering capabilities, and consider adding filters by proposal name or identifier to streamline troubleshooting.
Benefits:
Reduces time and effort required to identify which proposal failed during background processing.
Improves troubleshooting accuracy by providing a direct, unambiguous link between background jobs and their associated proposals.
Enhances user confidence and satisfaction by making error investigation more transparent and straightforward.
Supports faster resolution of submission issues, reducing delays and potential downstream impacts.
