Feature Request: Export to Excel button on import preview
Summary:
Add a clearly visible “Export to Excel” button to the Import Preview screen so estimators can easily export the previewed results without relying on right‑click or hidden actions. This will make the export capability more discoverable and accessible to all users.
Problem Statement:
Today, exporting from the Import Preview relies on users knowing to right‑click to access the export option. Many estimators are not aware of this interaction pattern, which makes the export capability hard to discover and inconsistent with their expectations. As a result, users may believe export is not available, spend extra time asking for help, or resort to manual workarounds to capture the preview data.
Proposed Solution:
Add a dedicated “Export to Excel” button to the Import Preview screen, positioned near the bottom of the grid or action area where users review imported data.
The button should clearly indicate that it exports the current previewed results to an Excel file.
Behavior should match the existing right‑click export functionality (same data set, same formatting/rules).
If applicable, respect any existing permissions or configuration governing export capabilities.
Ensure the button is always visible without requiring a context menu and follows the standard styling for primary/secondary actions on that screen.
Benefits:
Improves discoverability of the export capability for all estimators, including those unfamiliar with right‑click actions.
Reduces training and support needs around “how to export” from the Import Preview.
Cuts down on manual workarounds to capture preview data, saving time and reducing errors.
Creates a more consistent and intuitive user experience by aligning with typical button‑based actions instead of hidden context menus.
