Define Proposal Filters Directly within Integration Pro

Feature Request: Define Proposal Filters Directly in Integration Pro

Summary:
Allow users to define and manage proposal filters directly within the Integration Pro user interface, removing the dependency on preconfigured Proposal Selections in ProPricer. This will streamline export workflows, reduce cross-application dependencies, and make Integration Pro usable by roles that do not have direct access to ProPricer.

Problem Statement:
Currently, exporting a subset of proposals from Integration Pro typically requires creating a Proposal Selection in ProPricer and then referencing that selection in Integration Pro. This introduces several issues:

  • Integration Pro users may not have access to ProPricer, forcing them to rely on other teams to create or modify selections.

  • The extra step of configuring Proposal Selections in ProPricer adds friction and delays to what should be a straightforward export workflow.

  • Maintaining selections in two places (business logic in ProPricer, execution in Integration Pro) increases the chance of misalignment, errors, and outdated filters.

Proposed Solution:
Enable proposal filtering to be fully configured and managed within Integration Pro, without requiring a Proposal Selection in ProPricer. Specifically:

  • Add a “Proposal Filters” configuration area within Integration Pro where users can define inclusion/exclusion criteria for proposals (e.g., by name, version, status, date ranges, customer, opportunity, or other key properties).

  • Support both ad-hoc filters (configured per export job) and reusable saved filters that can be named and reapplied across multiple exports.

  • Provide a clear, guided UI for building filters (e.g., condition rows such as “Field / Operator / Value” with support for AND/OR logic).

  • Validate filters against available proposal metadata to prevent invalid or empty-result configurations, with clear error or warning messages when criteria are too restrictive or misconfigured.

  • Ensure that exports using Integration Pro’s native filters do not require any corresponding Proposal Selection object in ProPricer, while still respecting underlying security and data-access constraints.

Benefits:

  • Eliminates the dependency on ProPricer Proposal Selections for filtered exports, reducing coordination overhead between teams.

  • Speeds up export configuration by allowing Integration Pro users to define and adjust filters in a single tool.

  • Reduces errors and misalignment caused by maintaining selection logic in multiple places.

  • Expands who can effectively use Integration Pro (e.g., integration specialists or admins without ProPricer UI access).

  • Improves overall workflow efficiency and user satisfaction by simplifying and centralizing proposal filter management.
