Set specific notifications.

Feature Request: Event-Based Notification Triggers

Summary:
Enable users to configure notifications for specific project events (e.g., milestone completion) so that designated stakeholders receive timely alerts only for the events that matter to them.

Problem Statement:
Currently, users cannot subscribe to notifications for specific events such as the completion of an individual milestone. Project managers and other stakeholders must manually monitor progress or rely on broad notifications that generate noise. This leads to missed updates on critical milestones, inefficient status checking, and reduced confidence in project tracking.

Proposed Solution:
Allow users to define event-based notification rules tied to specific project objects (e.g., a particular milestone, task, or deliverable).
Support configuration of:

  • Event type (e.g., milestone completed, milestone date changed, task status changed)

  • Target item(s) (e.g., “Milestone X in Project Y”)

  • Recipients (individual users, roles, or distribution groups)

  • Delivery channel (e.g., in-app notification, email) and frequency (immediate, daily digest, etc.)
Display a simple UI for creating and managing these notification rules, including enable/disable toggles and an overview of active rules.
Ensure that notifications include clear context (project, item, event type, timestamp, link) so recipients can quickly act on the information.

Benefits:
Reduces manual effort by eliminating the need for stakeholders to constantly check project status for specific events.
Improves responsiveness and decision-making by notifying the right people at the right time.
Decreases notification overload by letting users subscribe only to the events that matter to them.
Increases project visibility and control for project managers, improving on-time delivery for key milestones.
