Limit how many instances of companion products and PROPRICER CE users can open at one time

Feature Request: Concurrent License Session Limits for Companion Products and PROPRICER CE

Summary:
Introduce configurable controls that limit how many concurrent sessions a single user can open across companion products (BOE Pro, Cost Volume Pro) and PROPRICER CE. The feature should enforce license usage thresholds per user in real time, preventing excessive simultaneous instances and helping organizations stay within their licensed capacity.

Problem Statement:
Today, individual users can open multiple instances of BOE Pro, Cost Volume Pro, and PROPRICER CE simultaneously. This behavior can quickly exhaust a subscription’s available license seats, especially for customers with lower license counts. As a result, a small number of users can inadvertently block others from accessing the products. Administrators must manually identify offending users and disconnect their sessions, which is time-consuming, reactive, and risks terminating a user’s legitimately active session.

Proposed Solution:
Implement centralized license governance that enforces per-user concurrent session limits across BOE Pro, Cost Volume Pro, and PROPRICER CE.
Allow administrators to configure maximum concurrent sessions per user (e.g., 1–N) at the product or bundle level.
When a user attempts to exceed their allowed concurrent sessions, block the new login/instance and display a clear message explaining the limit.
Provide an admin view showing all active sessions by user and product, with safe controls to terminate specific sessions if necessary.
Optionally support policies such as automatic termination of oldest idle session when a new session is requested, if allowed by configuration.
Ensure that these controls integrate with existing licensing and authentication mechanisms without disrupting valid, in-progress work.

Benefits:
Prevents a small number of users from consuming disproportionate license capacity.
Reduces support and admin overhead by eliminating frequent manual intervention to close excess sessions.
Improves fairness and availability of licenses across the user base.
Helps customers stay compliant with license terms and avoid service disruption.
Provides clearer visibility and control over real-time license usage for administrators.

Minor correction: License seats at one time.
