Feature Request: Bulk Archive and Restore Proposals
Summary:
Enable users to select multiple proposals and perform archive or restore actions in a single operation. This capability will streamline proposal lifecycle management, reduce manual effort, and keep active workspaces focused on in-flight proposals rather than historical or inactive items.
Problem Statement:
Today, proposal managers and administrators must archive or restore proposals one at a time. This is slow, tedious, and error-prone—especially in environments where teams manage large volumes of proposals. The lack of bulk actions leads to cluttered views, makes it harder to focus on active work, and introduces noise into search results and reporting. During operational events such as fiscal year close, program completion, portfolio cleanup, or data migrations, teams may need to archive or restore dozens or hundreds of proposals at once, which is impractical with the current one-by-one workflow.
Proposed Solution:
Provide the ability to select multiple proposals from a list, table, or filtered view and apply a bulk Archive action.
Provide the ability to select multiple archived proposals and apply a bulk Restore action to return them to an active state.
Support using filters (e.g., status, date ranges, owner, program, customer) to define the target set of proposals prior to bulk archive/restore, reducing the risk of acting on the wrong records.
Present a confirmation dialog summarizing the number of proposals affected and the action being taken (archive or restore), with clear warnings about any irreversible impacts.
Log bulk archive/restore operations for auditability (e.g., who performed the action, when, and how many proposals were affected).
Provide clear feedback on completion, including any proposals that could not be processed (and why), so users can quickly address exceptions.
Benefits:
Reduces manual effort and time spent managing proposal lifecycle changes across large sets of records.
Improves workspace hygiene by making it easy to keep active views focused on current, in-flight proposals.
Decreases the risk of user error by leveraging filters and confirmations instead of repetitive one-off actions.
Enhances reporting accuracy and performance by minimizing noise from outdated or irrelevant proposals.
Supports operational events (such as fiscal close or portfolio cleanup) with an efficient, scalable mechanism for mass archiving or restoring proposals.
