Feature Request: Copy and Reuse BOEs with ESIs Across Proposals
Summary:
Introduce the ability to copy BOEs, including their associated ESIs, to other proposals and save them to a centralized Library for reuse. The feature will enforce RAM-based access control and provide graceful fallback behavior when ESIs are missing, improving proposal management efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
Problem Statement:
Today, when users need to reuse a BOE with ESIs across proposals, they must manually recreate or reconfigure content and filters, which is slow and error-prone. There is no centralized Library for storing frequently used BOEs, so teams duplicate work and risk misalignment across proposals. Additionally, when referenced ESIs are deleted or access is restricted, BOEs can become unusable or misleading without clear messaging or automated cleanup of invalid filters.
Proposed Solution:
Enable users to copy an existing BOE, along with its ESI references, from one proposal to another, provided they are on the target proposal workflow and their RAM group has access to the referenced ESIs. Allow users to save BOEs (including ESI references) to a shared Library for reuse across proposals. When retrieving a BOE from the Library, validate the user’s RAM group permissions for all referenced ESIs and block or adjust the operation if access is not allowed. If any referenced ESI has been deleted, automatically remove all related filters from the BOE while preserving its text and formulas so outputs remain consistent. Provide clear, actionable messaging for permission errors, missing ESIs, and any adjustments made during copy or retrieval. Audit BOE copy and Library retrieval actions for traceability.
Benefits:
Reduces manual effort and duplication when reusing BOEs with ESIs across proposals. Improves consistency and quality of proposal content by enabling a shared Library of reusable BOEs. Strengthens compliance and data integrity by enforcing RAM-based access controls on ESIs and cleaning up references to deleted ESIs. Enhances user confidence through clear error and status messaging, as well as auditable history of BOE copy and retrieval operations.
