Feature Request: Notifications on Proposal Submit
Summary:
Enable automated email notifications to proposal managers and designated CC recipients whenever a proposal is submitted, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are promptly informed without relying on manual communication.
Problem Statement:
Today, proposal submission does not consistently trigger timely communication to the people who need to act next, particularly pricing and proposal managers. As a result, pricing teams may not know when a proposal has been submitted, causing delays, last-minute rushes, and potential misalignment with deadlines or customer expectations. Relying on manual emails or ad-hoc communication is error-prone and inefficient.
Proposed Solution:
Implement an automated notification system that sends emails when a proposal is submitted.
Allow configuration of primary recipients (e.g., proposal managers) and CC lists (e.g., pricing team, key stakeholders) at the workspace, proposal type, or template level.
Include key proposal details in the notification (proposal ID, title, customer, due date, owner, submission timestamp, and relevant links).
Support role-based targeting so that notifications can be routed to users with specific roles (e.g., “Proposal Manager,” “Pricing Analyst”).
Provide basic customization of the email subject and body to align with organizational standards.
Log notifications in the system (e.g., activity history) for traceability.
Benefits:
Ensures pricing and proposal managers are immediately aware of new submissions.
Reduces delays and manual follow-up, improving turnaround time and operational efficiency.
Lowers the risk of missed or overlooked proposals by creating a consistent, automated communication step.
Increases transparency and coordination across teams involved in proposal review and pricing.
